Historic Florida Theatre opens for “Movies Come Alive” haunted house

Theatre Plaza

For the first time since 1985, the Historic Florida Theatre will be opening its doors for a bewildering and chilling “Movies Come Alive” Haunted House production presented by Main Street Vero Beach and HauntedVero.com with thanks to the Brackett Family Limited Partnership; help from the terrifying talent of Michael Naffzinger’s Charter High school Drama Department; cooperation from the Fright Night Weekends five charitable groups; numerous generous sponsors and many valuable volunteers.

On Friday and Saturday, October 18, 19, 25, and 26 the PG-13 Terror on Main Street “Movies Come Alive” will be open for four shows only from 6-11:00pm.  Not for the faint at heart, courageous attendees will be taken on a thrilling trip through movies of yesteryear to today inside of the ghostly, spirit filled Theatre.  Tickets are $6.00 per person of any age and may be purchased, starting October 16th on their website at www.mainstreetverobeach.org or at their office at 2036 14th Avenue Suite 103.

A FREE kid-friendly movie matinee for children UNDER 12 accompanied by an adult will be offered on Saturday, October 26th from 11:30am – 1:00pm, right after the City of Vero’s annual Halloween Parade downtown.  Cool and healthy treats from Growing Healthy Kids and Hero Pops will be given out to the matinee attendees and a special surprise, too, from Chef Chris at Osceola Bistro.

Then, on October 25th from 5:30 – 8:30pm MSVB’s Downtown Friday is throwing a Halloween Party with spooky festivities planned including bewitching tunes by The RetroRockers and a costume contest with prizes awarded.  The kids costume contest is on stage at 6:30pm and the adults will compete at 7:30pm.  Who knows what costumes, creatures, and creepiness might be roaming the streets??
