NEWS RELEASE

At approximately 6:38 P.M. this evening, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a shooting in the 4600 block of 39th Avenue in Gifford. Deputies arrived on scene and found Reginald Davis Jr. (22) inside of a vehicle with a gunshot wound. Davis was transported to the Indian River Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.

A section of 46th Street and 39th Avenue is closed to traffic as detectives process the crime scene. Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “The area of this shooting is a populated neighborhood. We know that someone out there saw something tonight that could help our detectives bring the person(s) responsible for this to justice.”
